This role leverages the candidate's extensive audit background to enhance financial reporting accuracy and internal controls. The Financial Accountant will analyse financial data, assist with audits, and provide insights to support decision-making within the organization, contributing to the overall financial health of the company. Key Responsibilities: 1. Financial Reporting: - Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. - Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting in compliance with applicable accounting standards (e.g., GAAP, IFRS). - Assist in the preparation of financial reports for management and stakeholders. 2. General Ledger Management: - Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately and in a timely manner. - Review and post journal entries, ensuring proper documentation and approval. 3. Compliance and Internal Controls: - Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal policies. - Utilize Big 4 audit experience to assist in the development and implementation of robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the accuracy of financial reporting. 4. Audit Support: - Prepare documentation and support for internal and external audits, leveraging knowledge gained from previous audit experience. - Respond to auditor inquiries and assist in the resolution of audit findings. 5. Tax Compliance: - Assist in the preparation of tax returns and ensure compliance with tax regulations. - Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations that may impact the organization. 6. Financial Analysis: - Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement. - Provide insights and recommendations to management based on financial data. Qualifications: - Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; ACA, CIMA , CPA, ACCA or equivalent certification preferred. - Experience: - Minimum of 1 years of experience in financial accounting or a related field, with at least 2 years of experience at a Big 4 accounting firm. - Experience with accounting software (e.g., Netsuite ERP systems) preferred but not essential and Microsoft Excel. - Technical Skills: - Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards. - Proficiency in financial analysis and reporting tools. - Analytical Skills: - Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail. - Communication Skills: - Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly. - Interpersonal Skills: - Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and build relationships across departments.
