This role involves managing the revenue accounting team, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to support business objectives. The Revenue Accounting Manager will also play a key role in developing and implementing policies and procedures related to revenue recognition and compliance. Key Responsibilities: 1. Revenue Recognition: - Ensure compliance with revenue recognition standards (ASC 606/IFRS 15) and company policies. - Review and analyse contracts to determine appropriate revenue recognition treatment. - Oversee the preparation and review of revenue-related journal entries and reconciliations. 2. Financial Reporting: - Prepare and present revenue reports for management, highlighting trends, variances, and key performance indicators. - Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. - Coordinate with external auditors during the audit process related to revenue recognition. 3. Team Management: - Lead and mentor the revenue accounting team, providing guidance and support in their professional development. - Assign tasks and manage workloads to ensure timely completion of revenue accounting activities. 4. Process Improvement: - Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies within the revenue accounting function. - Develop and implement best practices for revenue recognition and reporting. 5. Cross-Functional Collaboration: - Work closely with sales, legal, and operations teams to ensure accurate contract terms and conditions are reflected in revenue accounting. - Collaborate with IT and systems teams to enhance revenue recognition systems and reporting tools. 6. Compliance and Internal Controls: - Establish and maintain internal controls related to revenue recognition and reporting. - Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and company policies. 7. Training and Development: - Provide training to internal stakeholders on revenue recognition policies and procedures. - Stay updated on changes in accounting standards and industry practices related to revenue recognition. Qualifications: Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA , ACA or equivalent certification preferred. Experience: - Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on revenue recognition. - Previous experience in a managerial or supervisory role is preferred. Technical Skills: - Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and IFRS related to revenue recognition. - Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., NetSuite but not essential ) and MSExcel. Analytical Skills: - Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail. Communication Skills: - Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly. Interpersonal Skills: - Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and build relationships across departments.
