We are looking to hire a Lead UX Researcher (mixed methods) to work on our digital healthcare services, focusing on identifying and solving key challenges our customers face as they go through their health treatment journey.
As part of your role you will be collaborating closely with product designers, product managers, stakeholders, clinicians and engineers in order to discover and understand customer needs, test solutions and inform product and design decisions that help people achieve their health goals. You will have a great amount of ownership in the areas you are working on, and will be reporting to the Head of Product Design.
This is the first UX Research hire in the business, and therefore you will have a lot of ownership in your respective areas and a chance to transform how the whole product organisation uses research to create better experiences.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Design and conduct qualitative and quantitative studies across key product areas independently.
Utilise methods such as field research, diary studies, surveys, user/usability testing, and any other methods you find impactful to provide fast and accurate feedback.
Record and structure your findings in our insights repository.
Champion the customer’s voice and make sure their needs are met at every design decision.
Challenge team thinking and senior stakeholder decisions by leveraging evidence and insights.
Communicate the business value of research to stakeholders.
Work closely with product managers, stakeholders, clinicians and engineers in a cross-functional manner in order to identify problems and ideate on solutions.
Identify key areas throughout the customer journey that can be enhanced and explain your recommendations with data, balancing both customer and business goals.
Mentor product designers and managers in how they run research in their respective areas of ownership.
7+ years of experience as a researcher in consumer-facing products.
Experience in organising and facilitating qualitative user research.
Experience in running quantitative research.
Being able to prioritise and focus on outcomes rather than outputs.
Having a growth mindset and being a team player.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills

HIRING PROCESS
- Screening call
- Intro & Case Study runthrough (45’): You will share a bit about yourself and your background/experience, and then talk through 1-2 recent research case studies, ideally including both qualitative and quantitative methods. As part of this call, you will have the chance to learn more about MANUAL and the product design function and process.
- Collaborative Session (60’): You will work with the team on a hypothetical research challenge. We’ll assess how you work within a team, your problem solving skills, as well as your research frameworks and process..
