The Role
We are looking for a Subtitling Intern who’ll support our growing Subtitling Team in a wide range of projects. You will undergo comprehensive training and you’ll learn how to sync, check, conform and create subtitles and captions for our films, gaining valuable hands-on experience. If you are enthusiastic about subtitling, accessibility and independent cinema, we want to hear from you.
You will focus on:
Acquiring, retiming, converting and conforming of subtitles and closed captions in a number of formats and languages.
Creation of subtitles and captions from scratch using programs such as Subtitle Edit and Ooona, following company style guides.
Post-editing and QC of subtitles in your native language.
Participating in broadening the accessibility coverage across a wide range of content.

Assisting the Senior Subtitle Manager with a variety of subtitling-adjacent tasks.
What you will bring:
A background in film and/or languages.
A passion for subtitling and accessibility and a strong desire to learn and grow in this field.
An excellent standard of written English. Fluency in a second language, especially French or German, is a plus!
Excellent attention to detail, and ability to proofread work.
Willingness to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies, and processes and react positively to change.
Strong organisation skills, with the ability to prioritise work and meeting deadlines.
Details:
Time commitment: 3 months (part-time, open to candidate availability)
Location: UK, remote-first with occasional travel to the London office
Compensation: monthly stipend (£500)
