Make Your Mark:Reporting to the Chief Information Technology Officer, the VP, Business Operations and IT Strategy is a key leader responsible for instituting and driving a quantitative, metric-based framework for planning and strategic business decision making for investments and operational execution.
The position requires an experienced professional with the right mix of financial and operational experience and skills, an ability to flex between the strategic and the tactical, outstanding verbal and written communication skills, and a high level of energy and flexibility to get things done and thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented product development environment. S/he will be able to work with cross-functional leaders in translating abstract business goals and initiatives to quantitative outcomes and forecasts, and drive investment planning and subsequent measurement and reporting. This will require a leader who embodies BlackLine’s principles of leading by example, communicating openly, enabling and inspiring others, excelling with partners, acting decisively, and collaborating effectively.
You'll Get To: - Operate as chief of staff for the CIO, coordinating staff and business cadence, as well as development of presentation materials for outbound reporting to the BlackLine Board and the Executive Team.
- Lead business planning, resource allocation, location planning for headcount, investment and business modeling, and investment ROI analysis for Information Technology.
- Develop and implement consistent methods for assessing team performance, managing risk, measuring product ROI, and developing business cases.
- Define and implement utilization portfolio/program/project performance metrics (KPIs) and indicators to provide a data-centric view of technology capabilities and operational performance, and advise on recommended investment levels, based on business opportunity.
- Work closely with Finance and cross-functional leaders within Corp IT to plan and monitor budgets.
- Drive cross-functional initiatives tied to transformation and change.
- Support the preparation of the organization’s strategic planning and Investment Planning processes.
What You'll Bring: - MBA from a highly ranked university, with an undergraduate bachelor’s degree in business or technical program
- 10+ years of experience in business operations supporting a technology function within an enterprise
- Strong experience in storytelling and building material for executive read outs using Power Point or similar technologies
- 3+ years of experience in a chief of staff-type role, advising an executive product or technology leader
- Solid general management capability with skills in strategy, operational excellence, collaboration and innovation
- Strong leadership qualities and organizational skills as well as the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities, assignments, and roles
- Independent judgment and mature decision-making skills to deal with programs that often have enterprise-wide scope and may have significant financial and compliance impacts
- Solid understanding of project management techniques, methodologies, and best practices
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills, with a demonstrated ability to effectively communicate technical and business issues to support the strategic goals

Salary Range: USD $261,000.00 - USD $347,000.00
Pay Transparency Statement: Placement within this range depends upon several factors, including the applicant's prior relevant job experience, skill set, and geographic location. In addition to base pay, BlackLine also offers short-term and long-term incentive programs, based on eligibility, along with a robust offering of benefit and wellness plans.
