The Role and Team
We are seeking a talented Software Engineer I to join our Engineering team. This role is ideal for someone who has completed their undergraduate degree and is ready to build their career within a collaborative team, particularly in the realms of Java development and distributed systems.
Responsibilities- Design, develop, and maintain scalable and efficient Java-based applications
- Collaborate with senior engineers to implement distributed systems
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code
- Debug and resolve complex software issues during SDLC process
- Contribute to the improvement of our development processes and best practices
QualificationsMinimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
- Demonstrated proficiency in Java and related frameworks (e.g., Spring, Hibernate)
- Demonstrated understanding of distributed systems concepts and technologies (e.g., microservices, message queues, caching systems)
- Demonstrated understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software design principles
- Demonstrated experience with relational databases and SQL
Preferred Qualifications
- 0 - 1 year of software development experience
- Familiarity with version control systems (preferably Git) and CI/CD pipelines
- NoSQL experience
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Fast learner
Medallia is committed to equal pay and transparency. The annual base salary range for this position is $86,400- $157,000. Please note that the salary range information provided is a general guideline and combines all of the distinct labor markets within the US. It is uncommon for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on a variety of factors. Medallia considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, candidate’s work location, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, external market data, as well as, market and business considerations when making compensation decisions.
