Finance Manager
As a Finance Manager, you will be directly responsible for a broad spectrum of finance and accounting workstreams at Castelion. The Finance Manager will work closely with the CFO to manage monthly accounting close, manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, support and improve the forecasting and budgeting process, and analyze spend and product cost. You will help improve Castelion’s accounting systems and processes, translate these improvements into the forecasting and budgeting process, and partner with leaders across the company to provide data-driven insights that allow for stronger management decisions. The ideal candidate will have a background in accounting and financial planning analysis, excellent analytical and communications skills, and high resourcefulness and willingness to learn.
Responsibilities
- Execute holistic review of Castelion’s finance and accounting systems and work in conjunction with CFO to improve and streamline processes
- Lead reviews of historical and forward-looking financial model (company- and program-level), providing direction for continuous improvement and strengthening of forecasting
- Collaborate with CFO and key stakeholders on budget and financial planning process
- Support drafting of materials presented to Executive- and Board-level audiences
- Manage accounts receivable and account payable processes, ensuring accurate and timely execution
- Improve and execute monthly close process by assessing the full scope of Castelion’s accounting needs, developing process improvements, and ensuring all procedures are timely and accurately performed.
- Provide regular updates to key stakeholders on spend and financial position
- Ensure all journal entries and reconciliations are adequately supported with documentation and evidence.
- Analyze, research, and conclude on accounting matters, including variances, reconciling items, and technical matters, with supporting documentation (technical write-ups and memos).
- Teach, train, and communication complex accounting concepts to others, including business partners.
Basic Qualifications
- Educational Background: Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- Technical Proficiency: 5+ years of experience working in a related field, program, or project
Preferred Skills and Experience
- System Experience: Experience with ERP systems, preferably NetSuite.
- Technical Skills: Technical knowledge of US GAAP, accounting concepts, and corporate finance, as well as strong skillsets in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Problem-Solving: Innovative problem-solving approach using first-principles thinking, including utilization of learnings from an American Production and Inventory Control Society (APICS) certification, Six Sigma certification, or similar certifications and data analysis using Excel, SQL, or an advanced analytics software.
- Resourcefulness and initiative: Willingness to find creative solutions and tackle any problem coupled with high willingness to take ownership and initiative
- CPA Designation: Active or inactive CPA license.
- Clearance: Active US Government security clearance or the ability to get one.
