Your role at a glance 🤸♀️
The Finance team is an integral part of Juni. We enable Juni to release new products, assess financial implications and ensure swift, compliant internal and external reporting. Juni is built for Finance teams which is why our internal finance processes are the backbone of the business.
Your responsibilities 👏
In this role, you’ll:
- Consolidate GL accounts for EU & UK and its subsidiaries
- Ensure accurate and timely closing of the books for monthly and annual reporting
- Manage the accounting policy, updating as required and ensuring regulatory financial reporting requirements are adhered to in accordance with Juni’s EMI-license
- Coordinate annual and interim audits
- Manage the IFRS9 reporting for the loan book and update the ECL model on a monthly basis. Translate and analyse the results to the business in a clear, concise way to identify operational drivers for change working closely with the Credit Team.
- Collaborate with risk control function to provide information where necessary
- Business partner to Credit, FP&A, Compliance, Product and Treasury, providing advice on the financial and tax implications of new products and support other finance processes
- Coach the relevant business units, driving the reporting process changes, challenging the existing arrangements and improving the governance and control procedures
- Participate or lead complex accounting or broader projects when/if the need arises
- Be a key enabler of new product releases through feedback on user experience, and ensuring operational readiness for new product releases
- Actively test, assess and implement Juni as part of the Finance team’s internal processes for the purpose of providing feedback to the Product team
- Deliver process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of the monthly, quarterly and annual reporting process; both via automation and control
Qualifications 👑
What we need to see
- University degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics
- Minimum 5 years experience in similar roles
- Strong accounting knowledge, with proven experience with IFRS9 and consolidated financial reporting
- Ability to take initiative and work with minimal supervision in a rapidly changing environment, influencing the business departments and driving improvements in the end-to-end financial reporting process
- A problem solving, hands on approach, not afraid to challenge the status quo and push for changes
- Eager to jump in where support is needed
- Keen to be involved in different areas of the business and work in projects outside your comfort zone
What we’d love to see
- Experience of accounting in a regulated environment
- Experience in automating procedures
- Experience with ERP system NetSuite
- Highly numerate with advanced excel skills
