Your Responsibilities
The Sales Operations Director is a strategic leader responsible for optimising the performance of the sales organisation within a fast-growing business. You will partner cross-functionally with go-to-market and business technology teams in defining and executing DeepL’s strategic priorities. You will lead the Sales Operations team to drive data-driven decisions, improve sales processes, and maximise revenue growth. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the Salesforce Platform, strong project management skills, and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally to enable the sales team’s success.
Define the strategic roadmap and growth opportunities to drive seller productivity through increased active selling time and simplified process automation.
Own, manage, and implement projects to drive the Sales Operations business objectives including: platforms & tools, process optimisation, and policy improvement.
Communicate effectively with leadership, including, but not limited to, written business cases, presentations, and project plans.
Partner with Sales Enablement to ensure awareness, knowledge, adoption of the platform and ways of working.
Process Optimization: Identify inefficiencies in the sales process and implement process improvements and best practices to streamline workflows and enhance sales effectiveness.
Budget Management: Manage the sales operations budget, including tools and technologies that support sales effectiveness.
Data Governance and Compliance: Ensure data privacy, security, and compliance standards are met across all sales operations processes.
Ensure that the team are sales tools “experts” (Salesforce Sales Cloud, Analytics, Salesloft, etc) to enable high tool adoption and valuable usage across the Sales and Customer teams
Demonstrate excellent leadership qualities and values, encouraging teamwork & collaboration.
Attract, develop, and retain great talent and build a team culture with a positive, solution-oriented, and growth mindset.
Qualities we look for
7+ years experience in a Sales Operations leadership position
Operational excellence: Expert Customer Relationship Management domain knowledge, knowledge ‘what best practice looks like’ anchored on salesforce.com and related technologies (Salesforce Sales Cloud admin certification a plus)
Change Management: track record of defining, owning and embedding consistent CRM processes across the global sales organisations. Good understanding and ability to assess the change impacts of process automation
Process Ownership and Simplification: decrease the complexity of customer centric operational sales processes delivering more consistent/common, consolidated and integrated sales processes across the business.
Demand Management: understanding of demand management processes, track record of implementing and running a demand cadence into the business and partnering with IT to ensure successful delivery of ongoing requirements
Best Practice: adopt practices and procedures closer to relevant industry best practices; where possible and where consistent with other business priorities
Reporting & Analysis – improve lead to order process and and sales reporting/analysis (this in effort to produce, timeliness, granularity and accuracy)
Strong CRM Domain Knowledge: sales clouds, master data management, contact management, configure, price and quote, incentive compensation management, analytics and reporting, contract lifecycle management, etc.
Ability to build consensus and manage diverse, group-wide stakeholders through influence
Strong execution focus and ability to manage ambiguity
Always focused on doing what’s right for the customer and the business. Willing to take on the tough projects and challenges to support growth
Ability to work effectively in an fast-paced environment requiring new perspectives and creative approaches, and with multiple competing deadlines.
