About the role:
As a Data Engineer, you will work along side a team of data engineers in designing, implementing, and maintaining robust data pipelines and infrastructure to support the organisation's data needs. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, analysts, and software engineers, to ensure data processes' availability, reliability, and efficiency. This role requires a deep understanding of data engineering principles, leadership skills, and the ability to drive technical excellence within the team. Also, you will take ownership of the whole data engineering domain and have high autonomy in making decisions and definitions of strategies.
Responsibilities:
- We expect that you have experience in the following technologies: OLAP (Snowflake or equivalent), Data Orchestration (Airflow or equivalent), Data Transformation (DBT or equivalent), AWS or equivalent, Streaming Framework (Flink or equivalent)
- Data Infrastructure Management: Manage and maintain data infrastructure components, including databases, data warehouses, data lakes, and related technologies, ensuring high availability, reliability, and performance.
- Technical Strategy: Collaborate with stakeholders to define and implement data engineering strategies and roadmaps aligned with business objectives, technology trends, and best practices.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with data scientists, analysts, software engineers, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements, define data models, and deliver actionable insights to support business decision-making.
- Quality Assurance and Monitoring: Establish and maintain data quality standards, implement monitoring and alerting systems to proactively identify issues, and ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity.
- Compliance and Security: Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and industry standards, implement data governance policies, and enforce security measures to protect sensitive data assets.
