As a FinCrime Data Analyst, you will play a crucial role in identifying and mitigating financial crime risks within our organisation. Your primary responsibilities will involve analysing large datasets to detect suspicious activities, making updates and improvements to the data warehouse, developing models to predict potential threats, and collaborating with various teams to implement effective countermeasures.
You will be expected to utilise analytical tools and techniques to analyse patterns and develop solutions to combat the risks you uncover. Your insights and recommendations will directly influence our strategies to combat financial crime and reduce financial losses.
This role sits within an Intelligence team, and you will work closely with the wider Financial Crime teams, as well as the various Data teams. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate complex findings to non-technical stakeholders are essential for success in this position. A background in data analytics, statistics, or a related field, is essential. Knowledge of Financial Crime is not essential, but is desirable.
Key Accountabilities:
- Develop and maintain Looker Dashboards for use within the wider operational Financial Crime teams
- Make backend changes to the data warehouse to increase the level of Financial Crime data modelling
- Improve existing monitoring of control gaps and losses attributed to these
- Develop models to predict financial crime risks, such as First Party Fraud
- Develop and maintain rules within transaction monitoring systems
Skills & Experience:
- Proven ability to use SQL within either data analytics or engineering
- Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to break down complex problems
- A track record of presenting technical solutions in a non-technical manner
- 1+ Years Experience working within a Financial Institution
