The Role and Team
Medallia’s SRE and Production Services Team is seeking a seasoned Senior Technical Project Manager to drive strategic projects, programs, and/or initiatives and enhance our infrastructure, Site Reliability Engineering, Cloud Journeys, and SaaS operations. This pivotal role will collaborate closely with our Operations, Engineering, R&D, and PMO teams to advance Medallia’s strategic goals. The ideal candidate will possess a strong blend of business acumen, leadership, and technical expertise, with deep experience in Cloud and Data Center Operations, risk management, and Program & Project Management.
Responsibilities - Lead and manage multiple high-impact strategic projects and programs across diverse teams and organizations, varying in size, scope, and complexity.
- Take ownership of the success and health of these projects, driving operational efficiencies in processes, people, and tools.
- Proactively identify and mitigate technical challenges and risks, ensuring they are addressed before escalating into issues.
- Maintain an in-depth technical understanding of the solutions being developed, including upstream/downstream dependencies, impacts, and the overall customer experience.
- Serve as a trusted source of truth for leadership, crafting communications that resonate across different levels—from executive presentations to detailed engineering updates.
- Propose and consult on platform and roadmap changes, advocating for long-term architectural stability and comprehensive documentation.
- Protect team bandwidth by fielding technical and business-related inquiries on their behalf.
- Continuously enhance team performance by improving velocity, efficiency, and throughput.
- Leverage knowledge in compute, storage, networking, Kubernetes, data centers, SRE, cloud operations, and migrations.
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve organizational execution and engineering productivity through tool and process enhancements.
QualificationsMinimum Qualifications:
- 7+ years of hands-on project/program management experience.
- 5+ years of experience working closely with executives.
- 5+ years of experience in Cloud/SaaS environments.
- Proven track record of managing large-scale, cross-functional programs in a matrixed, globally diverse organization.
- Advanced understanding of SDLC, Project Management, Product Life Cycle Methodologies, and industry best practices.
- Expertise in using Jira and Confluence.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 8+ years of people management experience.
- Relevant certifications (PMP, CSM, CPO, PgMP, IAPM, CISSP, ITIL, Six Sigma).
- Experience in managing AI solution development and market launch.
- Proficiency with hybrid cloud solutions.
- Experience in acquisition integration.
- Expertise in cultural change management.
- Ability to excel in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, effectively managing ambiguity and competing priorities.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to tailor presentations to various audiences, from C-level executives to individual contributors.
- Experience working with global teams across distributed time zones.
Medallia is committed to equal pay and transparency. The annual base salary range for this position is $120,000 - $216,000 USD. Please note that the salary range information provided is a general guideline and combines all of the distinct labor markets within the US. It is uncommon for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on a variety of factors. Medallia considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, candidate’s work location, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, external market data, as well as, market and business considerations when making compensation decisions.
