About The Role
Port Analysis team's primary objective is to disrupt & democratise how port expenses are logged, automate the process by generating Expenses algorithms for new Ports and keep existing Port Expenses algorithms up to date. Therefore, Port Analysis is the cornerstone of our Core Product.
As a member of the Port Analysis team, you will take on some of our biggest challenges and your work will impact the entire Harbor Lab experience. Our team moves very fast, so you'll have the opportunity to make an immediate difference!

Our Port Analysis team is growing and we are looking for a Junior Port Analyst.
What You Will Be Doing
- Be key contributor to the effort of analyzing and digitizing port expenses at different granularity levels
- Understand expenses/tariffs taxonomy per port and find ways to automate future estimations by developing expenses algorithms
- Audit existing expenses algorithms & keep port expenses database up to date
- Work closely with Harbor Lab's Product and Commercial teams
- Liaise between Agents and Vendors worldwide to provide clarity and clear up any ambiguity
Requirements
WE WOULD LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU IF YOU HAVE
- Educational background in Shipping, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, or other quantitative discipline/equivalent experience
- Interest in Shipping industry
- Detailed-oriented mindset & critical thinking
- Effective organizational skills to deliver on time and in full
- Strong collaboration skills to effectively cooperate with team members and external stakeholders
- Proficiency in Excel
- Some basic exposure to SQL and/or R is considered a plus
- Ability to work well with datasets and/or some experience with exploratory data analysis
- Excellent command of both written and spoken English (additional languages will be an asset)
- Fulfilled military obligations (where applicable)
