The role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Security Architect to lead the security design and implementation of Wayve’s Digital Infrastructure. The ideal candidate will possess deep knowledge in cybersecurity, embedded systems, and relevant industry standards to ensure our infrastructure is secure, resilient, and compliant with industry best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement security architectures for digital infrastructure, ensuring robust protection against cyber threats.
- Develop security solutions, best practices, and guidelines for software development teams.
- Perform security threat modeling, risk assessments, and vulnerability analysis on software components.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software engineers, systems engineers, and compliance specialists, to ensure security is embedded throughout the development lifecycle.
- Stay updated with industry regulations and standards such as ISO 27001 and TISAX to ensure compliance.
- Support security reviews, penetration testing, and security audits of Digital Infrastructure.
- Technically lead incident response efforts and forensic analysis in the event of security breaches or cyber incidents.
- Provide technical leadership, mentorship for security to internal teams.
About you
Essential:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in software security architecture.
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, secure software development lifecycle (SSDLC), and cybersecurity frameworks.
- Proficiency in security threat modeling, cryptographic techniques, and intrusion detection systems.
- Hands-on experience with secure coding practices in C/C++, Python, or Rust.
- Familiarity with automotive communication protocols such as CAN, LIN, and Ethernet.
- Experience with cloud security for connected vehicle platforms (Azure, AWS or Google Cloud).
- Knowledge of penetration testing tools, static/dynamic code analysis, and reverse engineering methodologies.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to assess security risks and implement effective countermeasures.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to work in a collaborative environment.
Desirable:
- Industry certifications such as CISSP, CEH, OSCP, or GIAC.
- Experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS) and embedded security.
- Understanding of AI/ML security concerns in autonomous driving.
- Familiarity with DevSecOps methodologies and CI/CD security practices.
- Previous experience working with regulatory bodies or contributing to industry security standards.
