About the role
As the Germany Marketing Manager you will be responsible for working on the local marketing strategy and marketing activities with the local lead, our Senior Marketing Manager, with the aim of building awareness and growing our subscriber base, supporting our expansion in one of our key markets. Working closely with the team, you will plan and execute digital and traditional marketing campaigns, organize events with partners, tastemakers and local institutions, give input on our social media strategy and collaborate with the Distribution team on marketing of MUBI Releases in Germany.
You will focus on:
Generating and developing new ideas for local marketing activities and partnerships to grow MUBI’s profile and subscriber base in Germany — with a special emphasis on nationwide arts and culture, entertainment and lifestyle brands and media
Leading on media partnerships, media buys and influencer strategy
Managing a diverse portfolio of existing partnerships, nurturing relationships and grow MUBI’s collaborations
Working with the MUBI Growth team to develop a strong, results-driven local CRM strategy to increase engagement towards the Germany programme and other local initiatives
Writing, translating and checking marketing copy for a broad range of outlets
Working closely with the Social and Marketing Coordinator, Germany and the wider MUBI Digital team to deliver the local digital marketing strategy
Overseeing the design and making of stand-out marketing materials with the in-house Creative team
Collaborating with the PR/Comms team and our local agency supporting our press/PR strategy
Helping or planning the smooth delivery of screenings and other events as and when required, occasionally also on weekends, evenings and holidays
Representing MUBI at festivals, talks, networking, trade and other professional events
Research including competitive landscape, surveys etc
What you will bring:
5+ years experience working for an entertainment, media, lifestyle brand or creative agency
Strong grasp of today’s streaming landscape dynamics in Germany, as well as globally
Deep knowledge of the entertainment industry and media
Well-connected across arts, media and film industries
Well/rounded knowledge/understanding of German audiences and experience delivering consumer-facing campaigns
Team player who enjoys working collaboratively with cross-functional counterparts
Entrepreneurial attitude: highly self-motivated and autonomous, thrives in a fast-paced environment
Creative thinker with lots of ideas, and willingness to look past easy answers to find the best solution to any problem
Outstanding copywriting skills
Impeccable attention to detail
A confident and effective communicator
Passionate about film
Confident managing a substantial budget and using resources efficiently and savvily
Fluent in German and English
