Welcome to the video first world
From your everyday PowerPoint presentations to Hollywood movies, AI will transform the way we create and consume content. Today, people want to watch and listen, not read — both at home and at work. If you’re reading this and nodding, check out our recent Synthesia 2.0 event.
Despite the clear preference for video, communication and knowledge sharing in the business environment are still dominated by text, largely because high-quality video production remains complex and challenging to scale—until now….
Meet Synthesia
We're on a mission to make video easy for everyone. Born in an AI lab, our AI video communications platform simplifies the entire video production process, making it easy for everyone, regardless of skill level, to create, collaborate, and share high-quality videos. Whether it's for delivering essential training to employees and customers or marketing products and services, Synthesia enables large organizations to communicate and share knowledge through video quickly and efficiently. We’re trusted by leading brands such as Heineken, Zoom, Xerox, McDonald’s and more. Read stories from happy customers and what 1,200+ people say on G2.
In 2023, we were one of 7 European companies to reach unicorn status. In February 2024, G2 named us as the fastest growing company in the world. We’ve raised over $150M in funding from top-tier investors, including Accel, Nvidia, Kleiner Perkins, Google and top founders and operators including Stripe, Datadog, Miro, Webflow, and Facebook.
About the role...
We’re looking for an SEO Lead to own and drive our organic search strategy. This role is a mix of strategic leadership and hands-on execution – leading a small but mighty SEO team of two while also diving deep into business strategy, ICP, product, data, content, and technical SEO to drive results.
What you will be doing…
- Own the SEO strategy – Develop and execute a roadmap to scale organic search growth, covering technical SEO, content, and off-page initiatives.
- Manage & mentor a team – Lead and support two in-house SEO managers, fostering a high-performance culture and helping them develop their skills.
- Execute hands-on SEO work – Conduct keyword research, optimize site structure, perform SEO audits, and implement technical fixes in collaboration with the website team.
- Monitor & analyze results – Track rankings, organic traffic, and conversions to continuously refine and improve SEO strategy.
- Stay ahead of the curve – Keep up with algorithm updates, industry trends, and competitive landscape to ensure we stay at the forefront of SEO.
- Collaborate cross-functionally – Work with Product, Marketing, Website, Localization, and Design teams to align SEO with business growth initiatives.
We'd love to hear from you if...
- 7+ years of SEO experience, with a proven track record of driving significant organic growth in competitive industries (ideally B2B SaaS).
- Hands-on expertise in both technical SEO (crawling, indexing, site structure, page speed) and content strategy (keyword research, content clustering, optimization).
- Leadership experience – either managing a team or mentoring junior team members.
- Deep expertise with SEO tools like Ahrefs, SEMrush, Screaming Frog, Google Search Console, and GA4.
- Strong analytical mindset – You love digging into data, building reports, and making data-driven decisions.
- Growth-driven approach – You don’t just optimize for rankings; you focus on business impact and love finding creative solutions to tough challenges.
- Cross-functional experience – You’ve worked closely with content, product, website, PR, and engineering teams to implement SEO initiatives at scale.
- Excellent communicator – You can clearly explain SEO concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders and drive alignment across teams.
On a personal level you are…
- A Results-Driven Leader. You don’t just chase clicks – you drive real business impact through SEO. You understand how organic growth ties into revenue and can clearly demonstrate the impact of your work.
- Experienced in Leading & Mentoring. Whether you’ve managed direct reports or mentored junior team members, you know how to uplift, inspire, and grow the people around you.
- A Self-Starter with a Bias for Action. You take ownership and run with projects. You don’t wait for direction; you identify opportunities, propose solutions, and execute with confidence and speed.
- Technically Proficient. You have a deep understanding of technical SEO and website architecture. You can diagnose crawlability, indexation, and site performance issues, working closely with developers to implement fixes.
- An Analytical Thinker. You love digging into data – organic traffic trends, keyword opportunities, and conversion impact. You leverage SEO tools to uncover insights and optimize performance.
- A Strategic Problem-Solver. You think beyond rankings and clicks, developing long-term SEO strategies that align with business goals, product roadmaps, and cross-channel marketing efforts.
- A Proactive Innovator. You stay ahead of the ever-evolving SEO landscape, constantly testing new tactics, adapting to algorithm changes, and integrating emerging trends like AI and video SEO.
- A Strong Collaborator. You communicate complex SEO concepts clearly to cross-functional teams – including marketing, agencies, product, and website—ensuring alignment and execution.
- Detail-Oriented, Yet Fast-Moving. You don’t miss a thing when it comes to optimization, but you don’t let perfection slow you down. You balance speed and quality to drive results efficiently.
- Webflow Experience (Nice to Have). Familiarity with Webflow is a plus, allowing you to make minor SEO adjustments without relying on developers.
- YouTube SEO Experience (Nice to Have). Experience optimizing video content for YouTube SEO is a bonus, as Synthesia is deeply invested in video communication and content.
