Description
ABOUT EF
At Entrepreneur First, we believe that a small number of exceptional people will have an extraordinary impact by creating the technology companies which shape the future in ways we cannot yet imagine. We also believe that for many of these individuals, entrepreneurship is not an obvious or entirely legible career path.
We exist to identify, and amplify the impact of, these individuals. We do this via our unique approach to company creation, which sees us identify and work with outliers before they even know they’re outliers, right through to the day they prove it. We call this Talent Investing.
The startups cofounded on our programs are now worth over $10B, and include Tractable, Magic Pony Technology, Cleo, La Vie, Aztec, Sonantic, and many more.
EF is funded and backed by some of the world's best founders and investors, including Patrick and John Collison (Stripe), Reid Hoffman (LinkedIn), Tom Blomfield (GoCardless and Monzo) and Demis Hassabis (Google Deepmind). Having raised our Series C round of investment at the end of 2021, we are well-capitalised out to 2026 and have ambitious plans to further scale our impact over the coming years.
ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for an exceptional individual to lead - and become an important part of - our small yet audacious Marketing & Community team.
The Marketing team at EF exists to demonstrate that, for the world’s most exceptional and ambitious young technologists;
- Founding is an impactful and important career path
- EF is the best place in the world to start your founding journey
The team strives to build a brand which is magnetic to, and trusted by, the world’s most exceptional and ambitious young technologists. They do this through centrally driven channels (i.e. our website and social media) and campaigns, and by empowering team members across all functions and sites to leverage and build the brand attractively and effectively in their everyday work.
Additionally, this role will be responsible for building out EF’s community strategy to drive more connectivity with alumni, giving value to the network and brand advocacy for EF.
What you'll do
1. Collaborate with the General Managers of EF’s sites (in Bangalore, London, Paris & SF) to set a global marketing strategy which will challenge exceptional young technologists to think beyond the status quo, make the first steps of the founder career path legible, while simultaneously positioning EF as the best place in the world to start the founding journey. It’s important that you’re able to collaborate effectively with the local General Managers to build the strategy as we believe that local insights should play a key role in driving global strategy. We know that our teams on the ground - our Talent Investors - have deep knowledge of our customers - what drives them, what they’re listening to, reading and thinking about - and it’s crucial these insights are baked into our global strategy.
2. Ensure that Talent Investors in every EF site are equipped to be effective field marketers of EF, empowering them to effectively leverage and build the EF brand in every customer interaction. You will ensure the EF brand is well defined, understood and effectively implemented across the organisation. You will be our biggest brand advocate, and will work closely with our local teams and talent investors to turn them into ambassadors of our brand. You will ensure the EF brand is well defined, understood and effectively implemented across the organisation.
3. Work alongside and enable your team to ensure that we produce, curate and effectively disseminate compelling campaigns and content across owned and earned media. We use content to demonstrate the value EF gives to founders on and after the programme - and importantly value they couldn’t have got from founding alone or staying in the status quo. This includes producing high quality content to showcase the value of the EF portfolio to founders, investors and employees. The curation component refers to how we work with our Talent Investors to produce content to help them grow their personal brands. We have also historically worked with external stakeholders to help craft thought leadership content.
4. Work alongside our People team to build our Employer Brand, with much of your attention focused on growing awareness of - and making legible - the Talent Investing career path.
5. Work closely with our San Francisco Launch team to help support Demo Day. This includes content and ops support that will be provided by the Marketing team.
6. You will be responsible for building out EF’s community strategy for alumni. Thousands of founders have been through EF’s programs. EF should be a pivotal life experience for everyone in the community, raising their ambitions and giving them a powerful network for decades ahead. An engaged alumni community will help create the flywheel for generating high quality referrals for EF’s programs. To date, our General Managers have led on engaging their local alumni communities with limited global support. This role will now lead the charge on how we can globally increase the value provided by the EF network after the program, through greater connectivity and services.
