Your Role
You’re the glue layer builder and Swiss army knife in Molecule’s ecosystem: whether apps need new features, contracts require upgrades, subgraph APIs need federating, or bridge transaction relays must be funded, you’re the go-to person for advice. You have an in-depth understanding of the entire codebase and can navigate implementation details across any feature. Your work will span blockchain protocols (IP-NFTs, IPTs) to user-centric platforms like BIO.xyz and Catalyst. Collaborating with engineers, product managers, and designers, you’ll help create solutions that redefine how scientific discovery and intellectual property are managed and funded.
What You'll Be Doing
Develop Full-Stack Solutions: Design and implement both front-end and back-end architectures for decentralized applications, with a focus on web3 technologies, smart contracts, and blockchain integration.
Collaborate on Smart Contract Development: Write and deploy smart contracts on Ethereum or other blockchains, focusing on functionality that supports Molecule’s IP-NFT and IPT protocols, as well as other DeSci initiatives.
Build User-Facing Applications: Work with UX/UI designers to build intuitive, high-performance interfaces that enable users to interact with decentralized science protocols and funding platforms.
Ensure Code Quality: Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code. Participate in code reviews and continuously improve codebase standards and processes.
Leverage Blockchain Technologies: Work with web3 tools and frameworks (wagmi/viem, privy, foundry) to integrate on chain functionalities into applications.
Optimize and Scale Applications: Ensure that the apps and services scale effectively as user adoption grows, optimizing performance and deploying new features to production environments.
Participate in R&D: Engage in research and experimentation around new decentralized technologies, staying ahead of the curve on advancements in blockchain, web3, and DeSci ecosystems.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with other engineers, designers, and product teams to define features, set milestones, and implement strategic roadmaps that advance Molecule's mission.
What We’re Looking For

Experience:
Proven experience as a Full-Stack Engineer, ideally with a focus on decentralized applications and blockchain technologies.
Strong experience with both front-end frameworks (React) and at least one relevant back-end stack (e.g. Node, Python, Go).
Experience working with web3 libraries and tools (wagmi/viem, ethers, foundry).
Good understanding of EVM blockchain ecosystems, including smart contract development and deployment (eg Solidity, Vyper, Anchor).
Familiarity with decentralized storage concepts like IPFS, Filecoin or Arweave.

Technical Skills:
Expertise in TypeScript, and modern front-end frameworks (Nextjs, React).
Great understanding of GraphQL based APIs.
Experience with backend frameworks like Nest, Strongloop, Flask, or Spring.
Knowledge of database management and cloud services (e.g., AWS, GCP, Docker, Kubernetes).
Understanding of cryptographic principles, decentralized identities, and tokenomics.
Experience with testing frameworks and methodologies (Jest, Mocha, etc.).

Preferred Experience:
Experience working in biotech, healthcare, or life sciences industries.
Exposure to decentralized finance (DeFi) or token-based ecosystems.
Familiarity with IP management, patent systems, or other scientific research tools.
