A flow controller’s role within the business is to monitor the flow of product and boxes from start of line, through pick tower, to end of line. They are responsible for the day-to-day first line response to automated system faults, enabling maximum efficiency and ensuring minimum downtime.
Core Responsibilities
- Working as part of a team or independently, as required
- Read and understand warehouse layout infrastructure. Good understanding of PLC and E-stop locations
- Data Manipulation
- Excellent communication skills between the Dematic team, engineers, jambusters and other stakeholders
- Understanding of escalation procedures
- Identify, analyse and escalate faults efficiently
- Work in high pressure, fast paced and constantly changing environment
- Understanding of operational reporting, key information identification and critical issue escalation
- Analyse faults and performance and work continuously to improve line flow
- Assist with the creation of documentation for new process and procedures
- Understanding of health and safety policies and practices including their application in a production/warehouse environment
- Train and mentor new recruits
- Attend meetings and provide structured updates
Who you are
- Computer literate
- Knowledge of SCADA software (desirable)
- Decision making capabilities
- Knowledge of working in an FMCG background in production, logistics, operations or fulfilment centre role
