About The Role
As a Java Engineer, you will be working as a member of a software development team delivering new features, which are part of Harbor Lab's Software-as-a-Service offering. Our cross-functional teams handle both front and back-end related tasks. Moreover, you will be writing automated tests, as well as investigating bugs and providing fixes. Collaborating with other engineers, product managers and designers will be part of your day-to-day work. You will also be participating in the team's Sprint ceremonies.
Our engineering team plays a pivotal role in the success of our company, and contributing to delivering high quality work on time is a key factor in achieving our goals
What You Will Be Doing
- Contribute to building a cloud-based scalable and reliable SaaS platform that hundreds of users use daily
- Work on a product with a modular architecture using a modern technology stack and software development best practices
- Write automated tests, unit and integration, to ensure high quality in our deliverables
- Be a member of a cross-functional software development team that uses Agile methodologies to continuously deliver value to our customers
- Develop your software engineering skills by being part of the lively and supportive high-growth environment our engineering team provides
- Get exposure on working with front-end related technologies and have the opportunity to grow into a full-stack developer
- Work in high pace environment translating requirements to robust and efficient software solutions
- Mentor other team members in software engineering best practices
Requirements
WE WOULD LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU IF YOU HAVE
At least 3 years of experience in software engineering:
- Programming in Java
- Spring and/or Spring Boot
- JavaScript or TypeScript
- Relational databases and SQL
- Software engineering best practices
- Microservices architecture
- Automated testing
- Git and related workflows
- Agile development cycle
- Fulfilled military obligations (where applicable)
Additionally, familiarity with the following will be considered a plus:
- Front end libraries and frameworks, ideally React and Redux
- CI/CD processes and release automation (Jenkins, GitLab, etc.)
- Docker, Kubernetes and the cloud native ecosystem
- Public cloud providers and their services, ideally with AWS
- Monitoring and performance-oriented software development
- Coaching junior developers
