The role:
We’re looking for a software engineer to join our data team. You will be responsible for developing new features and ensuring they are scalable, reliable, and efficient to meet future demands. This position requires a proactive approach and readiness (openness) for introducing modern practices to development, monitoring, maintaining, and improving our data pipelines and applications.
Responsibilities:
- Implementation and maintenance of business functionality.
- Support and extend existing CI/CD pipelines.
- Optimise infrastructure costs Collaborate closely with our other engineering teams to support the orchestration of our ETL pipelines using Airflow and manage our tech stack including Python, Node.js, Airflow, PostgreSQL MongoDB, Kafka and Apache Iceberg.
- and develop strategies for efficient resource utilisation.
- Provide critical support by monitoring services and quickly resolving production issues.
- Contribute to the development and support of new services as we expand our architecture to support multiple regions, transitioning to a microservices architecture.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of experience in a software engineering role.
- Strong proficiency in Python.
- Confident usage of Linux system and tools.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and capacity to work autonomously and adapt to a flexible, evolving environment.
- Required experience:
- Experience with AWS.
- Python web frameworks (Django, FastAPI, Flask).
- Microservices architecture.
- Building data pipelines (Batch and Stream Processing).
- Data modelling.
- Familiarity with Data Lakehouses.
- Working with real-time and time series data applications.
Important Details:
- We work in a Hybrid Environment: You split your time between working from home and working in our London office (Tuesday - Thursday).
