What you will do:
We are looking for a Learning and Development Intern for the People & Talent Team. Under the direction of their supervisor, the intern will be integrated into the daily work of the Learning and Development (L&D) team focused on providing team members with access to high quality, in-person, virtual and blended learning initiatives. We are looking for an individual who has a passion for making a difference by helping people grow.
At the core of the L&D team we strive to:
- Design, develop, and deliver tailored and impactful learning initiatives for our global workforce
- Support critical business needs through team member-focused onboarding and upskilling
- Engage with our team members to increase learner access, use, and impact of L&D initiatives
- The revision of existing processes, as well as the implementation of newer improvements, so that the cooperation between teams is at the highest level.
The intern will work primarily with:
- Training Design and Delivery: Under supervision of Talent Enablement teammates, the intern will help identify, design, update, and/or deliver learning initiatives that support our core curricula of business development, project management, and/or management and leadership.
- Training Engagement and Evaluation: In collaboration with Talent Enablement teammates, the intern will support our approach to training engagement and evaluation, including identifying ways to drive increased user engagement, learner adoption, and overall training impact.
- Streamlining and automating: Under supervision of Talent Enablement teammates, the intern will look for opportunities to improve communication, cross-departmental operation, automation of processes and implementation of AI in L&D activities.
Responsibilities:
- With the help of a supervisor, the intern would complete one L&D project and run it from beginning to end
- Will attend and observe internal meetings and under supervision, support the design, delivery, engagement and/or evaluation of in-house learning initiatives
- Will support the updating, improving and publishing of corporate resources using Google Docs, and/or training authoring tools (LMS).
- Will support the preparation and production of virtual and in-person instructor led trainings
- Will report on all L&D related data from internal learning tool and whenever required report them back to Cevora and Federal Learning Account
- As appropriate, co-facilitates relevant organizational courses and events
- Will attend Talent Enablement team meetings and trainings
- Will attend Lighthouse’ internal trainings related to effective communication, professional development, and business
- May assist with desk research or other short-term assignments as appropriate
- Will complete a summary report of a completed priority project detailing lessons learned and deliverables completed
- Will complete all requirements of the Lighthouse Internship Program
Requirements:
Education: Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree at a Belgian University in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Education, Psychology, or a related field.
Experience:
- Previous internship or coursework in Learning & Development, Training, HR, or related areas is a plus.
- Familiarity with instructional design principles or training methodologies is an advantage.
Skills:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS) or other training software is desirable.
Knowledge: Understanding of adult learning principles and training techniques. Basic knowledge of talent management and development processes.
Attributes: Eagerness to learn and a proactive approach to tasks, strong organizational skills and attention to detail, ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
Availability: Must be available for a minimum of 4 days per week for the duration of the required internship by a Belgian University. The internship should be a minimum of 3 months.
