The role & Gitpod
We're hiring a Sales Engineer in the US to accelerate our growth at Gitpod. Reporting to our Head of Sales, you'll support the team to drive end-to-end sales cycles with support from our Business Development Reps and Account Executives and closely collaborate with internal teams including product, engineering, and marketing. We firmly believe that everyone at Gitpod is in sales. This role will be at the forefront of our partnerships, representing Gitpod as we secure new enterprise clients.
As the founder and market leader in Cloud Development Environments (CDE), we're approaching 10x enterprise revenue growth over 18 months. We've earned significant partnerships with enterprise clients, and on average, our customers use Gitpod 36 hours per week per developer. Our ROI calculator demonstrates how we help customers save nearly $1,000,000 annually for every 100 engineers using Gitpod.

Responsibilities
Provide technical expertise to customers by explaining how Gitpod works in detail and answering technical questions
Help identify and solve problems that customers may face in the implementation of Gitpod
Provide customized solutions that meet the specific needs of each customer
Build relationships with customers by providing personalized attention and support throughout the sales process
Establish trust and rapport with customers, which can lead to long-term customer relationships
Demonstrate the unique features and benefits of Gitpod to provide a competitive advantage

Additionally, we're looking for someone with the most of the following experience:
High-growth, early stage experience with significant contribution in going from 0 to 1
Highly technical SaaS product experience
Experience with developers and devops personas
Significant knowledge of cloud infrastructure and tooling
At least 3 senior-level+ references that can speak to your strong performance

Interview process
We are fully remote and so is our hiring process. We value written and async communication, building relationships, and making sure people are in their sweet spot where their strengths align with the responsibility of their role. This process is designed to showcase and evaluate these topics and give you the opportunity to see how we work at Gitpod.
Contingent on schedules, we aim to complete the entire process in less than 2 weeks. We really value your time and will be as intentional as we can with the time we spend together.

Interviews
You’ll meet with several people in 1-on-1 interviews where you’ll have the chance to learn more about the work and team. In addition, you’ll complete a project and present it to a panel towards the end of the stage. Lastly, you’ll meet with our CEO before we move to references.
