About the Role
As a Network Engineer on the Protex Solutions team, you will be responsible for working with our clients, and their network teams, to get our AI-powered hardware enabled and running on their sites. You will be a strong technical partner both to our clients and their networking teams, as well as to our Solutions team and internal software teams. This is an ideal opportunity for a Network Engineer looking to get more exposure to software, and to blend network and infrastructure skills with a broader development skillset.
What You'll Do
Be the subject matter expert with regard to how our Protex hardware integrates with our client’s networks
Ensure the Protex system is maintained in a timely manner, ensuring compliance to needed control frameworks, internal and external audit requirements, and vulnerability scanning
Assist with the Pre Sales process by speaking with potential clients to address security and networking requirements
Speak with Protex AI clients to assist with installations (network setup and configuration, camera network setup and troubleshooting)
Own, create, and maintain network tools, including tests, benchmarks, and diagnostic tools for Protex AI hardware
Create and maintain clear and concise documentation of the environment, firewalls, proxies, and endpoints, exhibiting excellent change control and an appreciation of the control of risk
Identify opportunities to improve the technical landscape assisting in the design, documentation, costing and implementation of new infrastructure solutions
Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including customers and partners
What You'll Bring
Minimum of 3 years of experience in a technical role working with Unix devices and networking
Demonstrated experience with network security protocols and procedures
Demonstrated experience operating in a Security Operations Center (SOC)
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
Self-motivated and results-oriented, with a strong sense of ownership and accountability
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field is preferred
Willingness to travel as required for client meetings, conferences, and on-site visits
Excellent stakeholder management and relationship management skills
Technical skills and/or languages
Nice to Haves
Previous experience working in a startup environment
Previous experience with deployment and integration of hardware-based technology solutions in real-world applications
Previous project management experience
