Marvel Fusion, founded in 2019 and based in Munich, Germany, and Fort Collins, Colorado, United States, is a technology pioneer in the field of safe, clean, and reliable power generation.
Our mission is to unlock the potential of nuclear fusion: abundant, clean, economic and safe energy. A key milestone towards commercialization is the technology demonstration of Marvel Fusion’s unique fusion approach leveraging ultra-high intensity, short-pulse lasers and nanostructured targets.
In Fort Collins, Colorado, Marvel Fusion is building a high-power, high shot rate laser facility as “Technology Demonstrator” in the US as part of a $1 50M Public-Private Partnership with the Colorado State University (CSU).

The impact you will make
As Operations Manager, you will become part of a pioneering company with the opportunity to make a decisive contribution to the global energy transition.
In your role as Operations Manager in Fort Collins, you will be primarily responsible for all operations of Marvel Fusion Inc., overseeing everything from daily operations, processes, projects, and external service providers for accounting and tax, to procurement and more. You will report directly to the President of the U.S. branch.
The Operations team at Marvel Fusion has helped build and scale the company from the beginning. Sitting in between the commercial, scientific, and technical teams, the Operations team is responsible for daily operations, Project Management Office (PMO), company building, strategic partnerships, and strategic projects across the company. Founding and growing our Operations team in the US offers you a wide range of opportunities to develop professionally and personally, show initiative, take responsibility, and help make influential decisions. In particular, you will work closely with the local stakeholders to ensure seamless operations between the scientific and corporate functions teams with the goal of pushing the boundaries of high power, high intensity, high shot rate laser facilities worldwide.
More specifically, you will:
- Lead all operations across Marvel Fusion Inc. from defining and implementing processes, overseeing daily operations, managing office budget, and coordinating legal topics all the way to leading strategic projects in the US
- Act as the first line of defense for any operational issues, providing quick resolutions to challenges that arise during branch setup and scaling
- Conception, coordination, and management of strategic and operational projects with internal and external partners in the US
- Intensive communication with all departments in the US and Germany
- Sit at the core engine of Marvel Fusion Inc., get insights into all main projects of the company, and make sure that Marvel Fusion is on track to commercialize inertial fusion energy in the next decade
- Be part of a team and work collaboratively with business professionals, scientists, and engineers in a highly dynamic working environment
Activities will mainly be performed in the Fort Collins (CO) area with occasional travel
What you bring
- Proven hands-on experience in an operations, strategy, or similar role. This could be e.g. via 2-4 years of experience in a strategy consultancy or strategy department, or working in an engineering-oriented startup
- Successful completion of a relevant project either in a private or professional context
- Completed a Bachelor/Master's degree in either business, finance, or in industrial engineering, chemistry, physics, or similar. Having a background in both is a plus
- Very good analytical and conceptual skills as well as a quick grasp of concepts
- High degree of initiative, hands-on mentality, and professional commitment
- Ability to multi-task, working on conflicting priorities simultaneously, while always meeting deadlines and high standards of work quality
- Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
- Excellent interpersonal, social, and communication skills
- Discretion and loyalty
- Confident handling of MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)

The pay range for this position is $ 100,000 - $150,000 a year.
This pay range may be inclusive of several career levels and will be narrowed based on several factors, including the candidate’s experience and qualifications. Candidates may be considered for other positions at Marvel Fusion, and our actual base salary will be determined on an individual basis and may vary based on job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience. The range is published in accordance with Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act.
