This is an exciting opportunity to join our high-growth company as an ESG Specialist (Sustainable finance), playing a pivotal role in the rapidly evolving ESG reporting software industry. As part of our dedicated team of 14+ ESG professionals, you'll provide expert ESG advice with a focus on SFDR and ESG reporting for funds & asset managers, to ensure smooth sustainability reporting for our customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of high-profile clients in the financial sector (VC, PE, asset managers etc.) providing end-to-end advisory on ESG topics.
- Develop clear roadmaps to help clients achieve their sustainability objectives and build effective ESG strategies, through a combination of hands-on consulting and software solutions. The role will have a particular focus on SFDR, especially article 8/9 classification and sustainable investment concepts.
- Create client presentations and deliverables, using both qualitative and quantitative data to effectively meet client expectations. Responsibilities include analyzing portfolio ESG data, devising on SFDR readiness strategies, advising on sustainable investment practices, and facilitating workshops for senior management to enhance their understanding of applicable ESG regulations (SFDR, EU Taxonomy).
- Be involved in client deliverables to assist funds in investors & LPs reporting for sector-specific frameworks (e.g., Invest Europe).
- Collaborate with product/engineering teams to help build the market-leading ESG software solution. This could include communicating customer pain points and needs that can be solved with technology and sharing the results of pilot consulting projects to inform software development.
- Stay on top of the evolving EU regulatory developments impacting financial market participants by conducting ongoing research and preparing detailed updates for client communications.
- Work with sales to win new clients by sharing ESG and client knowledge.
Requirements
- You have at least 1.5-2 years relevant experience in the ESG sector (e.g. ESG advisory, ESG analysis, ESG-focused asset manager).
- You have proven experience in the investment industry and possess the skills to work effectively with leading asset managers (e.g. venture capital funds, private debt, private equity).
- You are well-versed in EU sustainability regulations applicable to funds and asset managers, with a particular focus on SFDR. Your expertise includes providing advisory services for pre-contractual, website, and periodic disclosures, along with a strong understanding of PAI indicators and EU Taxonomy data calculations.
- You have not only experience in client-facing roles and but also possess the ability to fully manage and drive client relationships. You independently lead end-to-end projects, providing expertise to senior stakeholders on ESG and sustainability reporting requirements.
- You have exceptional analytical skills with a high level of attention to detail.
- You are results-driven and have a solution-oriented mindset.
- You must be proficient in PowerPoint and Excel. Additional data/programming skills are a bonus.
- You must be fluent in both German and English.
Location
We are a remote-first company. You can either work out of our headquarters in Berlin or remotely. Choose the setup that works best for you. Remote locations should be within +/- 3 hours of CET time. We regularly get together at co-location weeks to strengthen a great culture across geographies.
