The Game Designer I - Live Ops joins a team of designers as part of the Product Team. The mission of the Game Designer I - LiveOps is to plan and execute a detailed event schedule to maximize engagement and monetization. This role will be working on a licensed IP social casual mobile game and will report to a Senior Game Designer.
As a Ukenite, you’ll be working on meaningful things like:
- Planning a detailed event schedule that takes into account the peak/valley nature of many events and works to maximize player engagement, retention and monetization
- Designing, scheduling and running live events, ensuring all configuration is done and all components are in place
- Actively using data to inform design decisions and generate better events
- Working with game designers and product managers to generate and prioritize ideas for new event types that fit into and complement the existing game structure
- Writing one pagers and full design specs for new event types in a detailed, rigorous manner, and being accountable for the outcome of the event, including testing the event and looking at the data in production
- Actively gathering feedback (lead, peers, analytics, forums, community team) at the right checkpoints to inform and prioritize event ideas, and to iterate on those ideas
Your background should include:
- Ability to generate and implement ideas for new events that compliment the game
- Spreadsheet proficiency including formulas, formatting and tables
- Analytics; able to extract, understand and act on data to inform product decisions
- Collaboration; clear and concise communicator ensuring best ideas win
- Up to date with current mobile F2P games and trends for genre
- Productive and effective manner; when something is not working, uses a solutions based approach
- Strong organizational skills; able to focus on key priorities and deliver on time
- Previous experience with live ops is an asset
