In this role you will design, implement, and optimize comprehensive data warehousing solutions on the cloud, maintain robust data systems and craft and optimize a versatile platform that will empower our organization to operate efficiently and effectively.
The Data Engineer & Platform Architect will be responsible for building and managing data pipelines, optimizing data workflows, and designing a comprehensive platform that integrates various data sources and tools. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, strategic thinking, and a collaborative mindset to support the organization’s data-driven initiatives.
You'll Get To: Key Responsibilities:
Data Pipeline Development:
- Design, implement, and manage scalable data pipelines to ingest, process, and store large volumes of data.
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and security across all data pipelines.
Platform Architecture:
- Develop and maintain a unified data platform that integrates diverse data sources and tools, ensuring seamless data flow and accessibility.
- Create a platform that supports both real-time and batch processing needs of the organization.
Data Management:
- Oversee data modeling, ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes, and data warehousing solutions.
- Optimize database performance and manage data storage and retrieval efficiently.
Collaboration:
- Work closely with data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders to understand their data needs and provide actionable insights and solutions.
- Collaborate with software engineers and IT teams to ensure platform integration and functionality.
Platform Enhancement:
- Continuously evaluate and improve the data platform’s architecture, scalability, and performance.
- Implement new technologies and tools to enhance the platform’s capabilities.
- Relentless focus towards improvements in CI / CD processes and platform stability and scale.
Documentation & Training:
- Develop comprehensive documentation for data processes, platform architecture, and best practices.
- Provide training and support to team members on using the data platform effectively.
Compliance & Security:
- Ensure data compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards.
- Implement and enforce data security measures to protect sensitive information.
What You'll Bring: Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field; master's degree preferred.
- Proven experience as a Data Platform Administrator, Platform Architect, or similar role.
- Experience of 3yrs-5yrs with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud). A certification in Google Cloud is a huge Plus.
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Knowledge of tools like Terraform is preferred
- Proficiency with either Google BigQuery and / or Snowflake preferred.
- Proficiency in SQL, Python, and other data processing languages and tools.
- Tableau administration is a plus.
- Strong understanding of data warehousing solutions and ETL processes.
- Knowledge of data modeling, database design, and data integration.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
