Role Overview
We are looking for a strategic person to come in and define and deliver a repeatable and scalable go to market machine. You will be responsible for the Marketing, Sales and Customer Success teams and accountable for aligning these functions with Product and Finance to identify, communicate and deliver the value of Qflow to the wider construction industry. You are starting with a great team in place and budget to hire the additional team you need in order to deliver your strategy.
As the Growth Director at Qflow, you will be a critical member of the SLT and at the forefront of our growth trajectory, spearheading efforts to scale our revenue to £5M ARR and beyond. You will be responsible for shaping and executing our GTM strategy and accountable for our MRR growth.
You will need a strong head for numbers and eye for detail. You’ll need an ability to set objectives, measure progress against them, identify what’s working and what we should double down on, and what’s not and should scrap; iterating to optimise and accelerate our GTM.
We do not expect you to have done exactly this in Construction Tech before… very few have. We are looking for a strong growth mindset, problem solver and strategic thinker. Someone who can spot and leverage connections to ensure the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. Humility and openness to failure and iteration are vital as we work together to quickly experiment, measure impact, pivot and try again.
Key Responsibilities
The first 3-6 months: Empower the Commercial team:
- We have an amazing team across Marketing, Sales and Customer Success. What we need is someone to continue to align them and support them in working together to drive new business and account growth.
- You will be able to hire and appoint leaders in these teams support the delivery of your strategy. You will need to build, manage, and mentor a high-performing team members, setting clear objectives and measure performance to ensure accountability and career satisfaction.
- Support and mentor the team in tough customer conversation from closing a deal to growing an account.
- Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and revenue targets for the commercial function. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and feed this ack to the SLT.
- Work with Sales Operations to implement efficient sales processes, tools, and systems to enhance productivity and scalability. Work with Marketing and Product to turn releases into launches.
6 to 12 months: Building on the strategy & working with Finance, Ops and Product
- Working closely with Product and with a comprehensive overview of the company’s mission and capabilities, you will be well placed to lead pricing strategy development as we release new features and services.
- You will work with finance to help forecast this impact on revenue and how best to incentivise the team to leverage these new capabilities to maximise growth and market share.
- You will take a long-term view, identifying and prioritising target markets, segments, and customer profiles to maximize market penetration. Working with Finance and Product to inform their forecasts and roadmap.
12 to 24 months: Lead market expansion
- Identify and pursue new market opportunities in the UK, US, and other potential regions.
- Lead market research and analysis to stay ahead of and leverage industry trends and competitive landscape, working closely with the Product team to align development, key partnerships and marketing strategies.
- Forge strategic partnerships and alliances with industry stakeholders, technology providers, and complementary service providers.
- Negotiate and manage commercial agreements and contracts to ensure mutual benefit and long-term success.
Qualifications & Experience
- Proven experience as a Commercial Director, VP of Commercial, or similar senior role in a high growth business, Bonus: experience in the Engineering and Construction industry.
- Strong understanding of SaaS metrics, business models, sales cycles, and go-to-market strategies. Bonus: Demonstrated success in scaling revenue from early-stage growth (e.g., £1M ARR to £5M ARR and beyond).
- Demonstrable growth mindset, exceptional leadership, communication, and negotiation skills. Experience in Senior Leadership team.
- Strategic thinker with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, and innovative environment.
- Passion for sustainability and making a positive impact on the construction industry.
- Bonus: Experience of working with and managing international teams, particularly those in the USA.
