Make Your Mark:The Senior Director of Sales Development and Skills Training plays a pivotal role in enhancing the capabilities of our frontline sales team. This individual will be responsible for designing and implementing a comprehensive sales development and skills training program aimed at driving deeper engagement with prospects and clients. This program for BlackLine will be managed in house versus the traditional outsourcing. The ideal candidate has a strong background in sales development, training, and a passion for fostering continuous learning and improvement within sales teams.
This role will be instrumental in shaping and enhancing our sales culture by identifying the right competencies as well as, developing, and executing comprehensive training programs. This role involves creating tailored training initiatives for various roles within our front-line sales team and aligning them with strategic sales methodologies such as value selling and consultative selling as well as developing and reinforcing a sales qualification process, both for prospective and existing clients.
Finally, you will work directly with Sales, Customer Success, Marketing and Revenue Operations to ensure we are delivering a best-in-class program.
You'll Get To: • In-depth knowledge of instructional design principles and creating virtual instructor-led training modules.
• Proven experience applying focused and intricate expertise in developing training programs for large sales organizations (preferably 400+ employees).
• Intense understanding of systems and technology as delivery mechanisms for training.
• Leverage various delivery mechanisms, including systems, live trainings, virtual trainings, and AI technology, to enhance the training experience and foster continuous learning and development.
• Deliver engaging and impactful training sessions, workshops, and seminars to improve sales techniques, product knowledge, and customer engagement strategies.
• Ability to adapt training materials for translation into multiple languages and cultures.
• Identify and define key sales competencies essential for success within our organization.
• Develop and implement a comprehensive framework for sales development and skills training.
• Design and deliver engaging and effective training programs for different roles within the front-line sales team with advanced techniques to engage prospects and clients more deeply, fostering stronger relationships and increasing conversion rates.
• Create bite-size training sessions that are impactful and easily digestible.
• Align training initiatives with strategic objectives related to value selling and consultative selling (to name a few).
• Establish metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of training programs, track progress, and make data-driven adjustments to improve outcomes.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional team in sales leadership, marketing, and product teams to ensure training programs are aligned with business goals and market needs.to ensure successful implementation and adoption of training programs.

• Stay current with industry trends and best practices in sales training and development, incorporating new methodologies and technologies into training programs.
What You'll Bring: 10+ years background in sales training, methodology, or equivalent experience with leading sales training consulting companies and/or certifications. This can also include direct sales experience.
Experience as a salesperson or sales leader in past roles.
High ability to influence and partner with senior leadership.
Advanced knowledge of sales strategies and techniques to drive engagement and conversion.
5+ Years of experience in a SAAS organization
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Self-motivated with a passion for continuous learning and development.
Demonstrated experience in developing and delivering effective sales training programs.
Sales training certifications
Sales or Sales Management experience
Experience using sales modernization tools

Salary Range: USD $179,000.00 - USD $238,000.00
Pay Transparency Statement: Placement within this range depends upon several factors, including the applicant's prior relevant job experience, skill set, and geographic location. In addition to base pay, BlackLine also offers short-term and long-term incentive programs, based on eligibility, along with a robust offering of benefit and wellness plans.
