About the role:
At Billie, we're at the forefront of transforming how B2B payments work, and our Underwriting Team is essential to fueling our ambitious growth. We're looking for a talented Underwriter who thrives on putting things into action, building strong relationships with merchants, and designing innovative risk strategies that support our expanding operations while protecting our bottom line.
What You’ll Do:
- Collaborate with Major Merchants: Work closely with our largest partners to create smart, tailored risk structures that address the unique needs of each business.
- Be an Independent Decision-Maker: Take the lead on underwriting complex, non-standard deals that require a deep understanding of business risk and creative, thinking beyond the usual procedures.
- Shape the Future of Our Products: Play a key role in designing policies and processes that support the launch and expansion of our innovative Buy-Now-Pay-Later (BNPL) offering, as well as our international growth.
- Drive Risk Monitoring and Alerts: Build and implement cutting-edge monitoring systems to track and manage risk for our growing customer base.
Who we are looking for:
- 4+ Years of Experience: You have a solid background in credit risk analysis and financial statement evaluation for SMEs or KMUs, with a preference for experience in the B2B sector.
- We’re a fintech. You bring the fin – and are excited and curious about the tech part of our work. We prioritize scalable solutions over routine tasks.
- E-Commerce, Credit Management, or Payments Expertise: Bonus points if you’ve worked in the e-commerce, credit management, or payment provider industries.
- Autonomous and Proactive: You thrive on ownership and are driven to take initiative, always looking for ways to improve processes and deliver results.
- Fluent in English and German: You’re comfortable communicating in both languages to collaborate effectively with a global team.
