About Qargo
Qargo is a tech scale-up with offices based in London and Ghent. We are on a mission to transform the transportation industry by making it more efficient, profitable, and sustainable. Together we are building the most user-friendly and intuitive Transport Management System (TMS) on the market that automates administrative processes and optimizes planning.
At Qargo, we are constantly looking for ways to save transport companies time and prevent administrative errors. One of the approaches to drive these optimisations is through high-qualitative, automated data exchanges between our TMS and other systems.
Modern transport companies exchange digital data with many different parties. They send and receive information like incoming transport orders, status updates from partner networks, and real-time tracking of vehicles.
Our Integrations Platform team is looking for an ambitious intern to help us create the tools that enable such seamless connections. You'll get to work on real projects, contributing to the scalability and observability of our data flows. Get hands-on experience with building blocks and tooling, and learn how to design and implement robust integration architectures.
The specific content of the internship can be discussed based on where your interests overlap with the team's ongoing challenges. Below are some potential projects to give you a first idea!
What you’ll do
✅ Example project: connector ‘app’ store & provisioning
Today, connections can be setup through a number of manual steps. In different places in the application, configuration needs to be added, which works together to enable the different data flows.
The sheer number of native connectors we have is well documented internally, but not so much visible for application owners at the customer, leaving untapped potential for further automation on the table.
Ideally we move towards an app store like concept for these native connections, so they can be browsed by the end user, and the configuration can be bootstrapped from there. The necessary configuration elements that are now manually configured could be auto-provisioned. In this way, we can increase efficiency of our Customer Success team and reduce errors.
The project focuses on designing the needed data model changes, and building the first version of that provisioning flow.
✅ Example project: aggregation in CSV exports
Exporting data serves different use cases within transportation companies, both operationally and from a business intelligence perspective.
Often end users struggle when the data model contains 1:n relations. Intuitively, they expect certain aggregations to happen on the data, but don’t fully understand how to configure that.
This project focuses on improving the end to end experience for the end user. This can be through certain UI changes, but also AI-powered approaches might be part of the solution.
What We’re Looking For

✅ You love solving complex problems and building scalable systems.
✅ You are experienced with Python (experience with Django is a plus!) and SQL.
✅ Have a basic understanding of APIs, databases, and data exchange formats (JSON, XML, etc.).
✅ You are looking for an internship with a duration of 6 to 8 weeks (based on student availability), starting beginning of July.
What We Offer
✅ Hands-on experience with modern and varied technologies and best practices in software engineering. You'll get to know our technical stack consisting of Python, Django, GraphQL, Kubernetes, React, and more.
✅ A chance to build a solution to a real problem, from concept to production-ready code.
✅ A supportive internship environment where you can learn and collaborate with a talented engineering team.
✅ A green office with a great atmosphere in Ghent!
✅ Experience working in a fast-paced growing startup environment.
