The Role
We’re looking for a skilled and experienced Coffee Quality Manager to join our team.
In this role, you’ll take ownership of our entire quality process, from sourcing to roasting, ensuring the highest standards are met at every stage. You’ll implement and refine quality control procedures, optimise roasting profiles, and maintain flavour consistency across all our roasted coffee products. Your deep expertise in coffee characteristics, roast development, and brewing methods will be key to delivering the best possible experience to our customers.

What you’ll be doing:
Coffee Roasting:
- Profile Roasting - Setting profiles for all coffee SKUs, optimising for quality and category of product. Collaborating with the Senior Roaster to ensure profiles meet the company standards
- Production Roasting - roasting for production to support the coffee volume needed in line with stock levels and business needs.
Quality Control:
- Lead and maintain QC across all roasted coffee with the support of the Senior Roaster and wider coffee team. This includes:
- Cupping
- Brewing
- Roast Goals
Implement a standardised feedback loop reviewing production data/QC Analysis to implement corrective action Team development - Ensure all coffee team take part in QC Green/Roasted
Team Management and Training:
- Work with the Senior Roaster to implement robust and high-quality development plans throughout the coffee team.
- Provide ongoing coffee training and development for the wider Pact team via the monthly Coffee Classes on all things coffee!
Food Safety
- Be the Site Lead for BRCGS, maintaining standards across all teams owning all relevant areas.
- Organising Internal/External Audits working with our 3rd party partners
- Own the HACCP Policy for the site
- Organising relevant meetings/reviews for all paperwork/processes
Supply Chain Quality/ Green Coffee
- Own QC of all Green Samples across the entire supply chain including offer, PSS, Arrival and evaluation samples
- Moisture/density
- Screen size
- Defect counting
- Sampling roasting
In conjunction with Director of Coffee manage inbound container traffic from origin into warehousing including documentation management and processing Procure and manage all green coffee information keeping it organised and up to date at all times. Provide all coffee information needed for the creation of assets for coffee launches to the wider team working closely with the Director of Coffee to get information ready
