About the role
We’re looking for a well-rounded PHP engineer who knows the ropes of modern PHP development, while Symfony is their go-to framework. This team is tasked with the future of credit in Lendable and tackles the toughest and most challenging credit market in Latin America.
There’s much to do, from security-first API integrations with fraud detection and asset management systems, repurposing in-house-built credit card systems for new markets, integrating with developing underwriting models and third-party reporting automation to identifying the value of collected data and leveraging it for better credit decisions.

What we’re looking for- Experience in Finance or related industry
- Track record in developing with modern PHP standards (Java-like)
- Good familiarity with code quality tools from the likes of PHPStan, Psalm, PHPArkitect and others
- Deep understanding of testing techniques with PHPUnit and Behat
- Data-oriented mindset
- Enthusiastic about AI and how to leverage AI tools to improve development’s speed and quality
- Being a self-starter and naturally looking to unblock themselves before reaching out to others; A person with critical thinking who collaborates with our non-engineering colleagues and refines the actual product with them.

- A take-home coding task that we expect you to take between 2 to 5 hours of your own time
- Two on-site or video interviews:
- Discuss with other engineers the coding task you completed
- Meet people (like the line manager) from the team you’ll work with
