We’re looking for fintech enthusiasts to join us in creating the financial infrastructure of tomorrow. We’re building the first European Investment API to enable any financial institution offering a wide range of efficient and transparent investment products, such as stocks and ETFs in nominal, portfolio, and fractional form. We’re based in Berlin but are also open to hiring remotely in Germany for this role. If you're currently based elsewhere but would like to move to Germany, we’re happy to support your relocation.
Your mission:
We are currently embarking on conquering the European investment landscape. Upvest will roll out its product offering across the European Economic Area. In this regard, the Legal team plays a crucial role in connection with preparing, organizing and operating the rollout by way of using the European freedoms while at the same time complying with specific local regulation. Upvest’s Outsourcing team also contributes to the firm's expansion by keeping track and managing its Outsourcing relationships with Clients and Vendors.
- Involvement in the further development of a group-wide third-party risk management
- Support in the creation of risk analyses
- Implementing and optimizing control and monitoring processes
- Continuous monitoring of compliance with internal and legal requirements for (IT)-outsourcings, critical and non-critical ICT services and other critical services
- Creation and ongoing maintenance of full documentation of all outsourcing, critical and non-critical ICT services as well as other critical services
- Preparation of outsourcing notifications and approval applications to the responsible supervisory authority
This role will give you the opportunity to:

Job requirements:
- At least two years relevant work experience and a strong interest in third-party risk management
- Experience in reading and understanding laws and regulatory relevant directives (EU and UK)
- Strong project management capabilities
- Willingness to work in a demanding and dynamic intellectual environment
- Excellent analytical skills and a structured, independent approach to work
- High level of self-organisation
- Outstanding communication skills, with the ability to convey complex regulatory requirements in a clear and understandable manner
- Very good language experience in German and English
