Senior Weapons Systems Integration Engineer
The Role We are seeking a Senior Weapons Systems Integration Engineer to lead advanced weapon-platform integration efforts with a primary focus on multi-role combat aircraft. This role will directly support the development and integration of cutting-edge missile technologies, ensuring alignment with warfighter needs and operational capabilities. You’ll play a pivotal role in bridging emerging technologies with real-world applications, enabling superior missile system performance and reliability.
Responsibilities:
· Support the development of advanced weapon concepts and technologies, focusing on missile integration with the multi-role combat aircraft platforms.
· Develop, maintain, and execute against a fast-paced plan to successfully integrate a weapons system.
· Serve as the primary point of contact to aircraft manufacturers and customers in support of weapons integration.
· Develop and coordinate technical specifications and other documentation to support integration efforts.
· Generate system and subsystem requirements based on a comprehensive understanding of current and emerging threats, warfighter needs, capability trade studies, and emerging technologies.
· Monitor the progress of internal technical development, ensuring alignment with program goals and documenting/reporting progress to the team.
· Evaluate requirements, functional descriptions, and hardware/software specifications for completeness and traceability.
· Review interface specifications, drawings, and design documents to assess functional, electrical, software, and physical interfaces.
· Provide technical guidance during meetings, project reviews, and test planning activities.
· Support ground and flight tests, including planning, execution, and documentation/reporting of results.
Job Requirements:
· Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline.
· 5+ years working in weapons systems integration or related fields.
· 2+ years of relevant technical project management experience.
· Active TOP SECRET security clearance with a background investigation completed within the past five years.
· Willingness to support geographically dispersed activities and travel approximately twice monthly.
Preferred Skills:
· Firsthand engineering experience and deep familiarity with multi-role combat aircraft platforms and/or current missile systems.
· Experience with weapons system development and integration onto air platforms.
· Experience leading an integration effort culminating in a fielded weapons system.
· Expertise working directly with DoD customers.
· Master’s degree in an engineering discipline.
· Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work collaboratively in high-performing teams.
